Svetlana Tchernov

Svetlana Tchernov is a Judaic & Art teacher at Chabad Torah Tots and is a substitute teacher for the Winnipeg School Division and Pembina Trail School Division. She was born and raised in Ukraine. Svetlana started in education more than 20 years ago as an elementary school teacher. In 1994 Svetlana immigrated to Eretz Yisrael with her family and continued her teaching career as Media Art Teacher in religious and public schools. Since 2006 the Tchernov family has been living in Winnipeg.

Svetlana has a B.ED. David Yallin Academy of Education in Jerusalem, an ECE level II certificate in Manitoba, as well as a teaching certificate from the University of Winnipeg with a Major in Fine Arts and Media Art and a Minor in History. Svetlana worked at the Kaufman Child Care Centre for 5 years as a team leader in the School Age Program. Since 2013 she is teaching Art & Drama at Chabad Lubavich School.

Svetlana is an active volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg.
